Sometimes I feel empty.
Emotions escape me,
and suddenly there is:
No Fear
No Pain
No Happiness
Just an incredible sense of freedom.
Feelings non-existent cannot hurt me.
There is a force field around my soul.
It doesn't allow anything, anyone in or out.
Not Family
Not Friends
Not Enemies
I learn that loneliness is now my best friend.
People might think it's craziness that makes one so disconnected.
I would rather be insane and painless
than have complete sanity and become an emotional wreck.
If only it had always been this easy.
It's like having a built in light switch I never knew I had.
I have mastered turning it off,
but every time I turn it back on
I get burned.

People Are Like Slinkies. Relatively useless, But You Can't Help But Smile When You See One Fall Down The Stairs.
So I am hoping that you can already guess I am not much of a "people person". If you lived my life, neither would you. That is why it makes NO SENSE that I am in probably in the wrong profession, being it forces me to interact with "people" on a regular basis. I have now acquired the desire to have my own little place to put my own little rants and raves for the world ( and hopefully the assholes I serve daily) to see. Some of you may find humor in this. Some may be seriously offended. If I begin to care, I will let you know. I guess I should have titled this blog "Confessions of a Serial Waitress." I didn't, oh well. Now on with the show.
I wasn't always so... what's the word for it? Oh yeah, insensitive toward the less intelligent. I mean, why should I be? I'm only a waitress. Well, I have served so many different kinds of people in the past five years, and dealt with so many idiots of all trades that it just goes to show. No matter your profession or degree, you can still be completely clueless.
I will stop ranting right now and leave you with my TIP of the day.
If you are going to be an asshole and sit in a booth or table for hours upon hours, realize that you are costing us MONEY. We work hard enough for the minimum wage we receive, but we don't live off of it. We live off tips. If we turn a table every 45-60 minutes in a 4-5 table section, we will make about $20/hour. We then have to tip out other people. So if you decide to camp, leave it based on how long you're there. Not just the bare minimum 15% for the bill. THANKS!
